Druids Glen is often referred to as "The Augusta of Europe". The flora and fauna of the Glen provide a colourful backdrop to a magnificent golf course. The forests and streams produce a haven for wildlife in what was once a home to the Druids.   Design duo Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock were given the brief to create the best inland course in Ireland. The classic parkland course features many signature holes and provides golfers with a thrilling golf experience amidst a beautifully manicured landscape. Druids Glen was the Home of the Irish Open for 4 years from 1996 -'99. In 1996 & 1997, seven-time European No.1 Colin Montgomerie won the title. And in 1999 record Irish Open crowds witnessed teenager Sergio Garcia from Spain produce a final round 64 to capture his first professional victory. Druids Glen hosted the Seve Trophy in 2002. In 2000/'01 Druids Glen was honoured to receive the award of European Golf Course of the Year, from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
