Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club is to be found on the outskirts of Troon on Scotland’s west coast and has been offering the golfer a magnificent links golf challenge for over an hundred years. The course itself is a Open Championship Final Qualifying venue with a well deserved reputation for some of the best maintained greens in Scotland. The course is tough, but is typically what Scottish Links golf is about - large undulating greens, deep bunkers and doglegs. Barassie Links remains to many one of the clichéd Hidden Gems of Scottish Golf. For those who have played it however it simply becomes a mystery as to why more haven’t.
