At 6250 yards long, we like to think of the Machrie course as a subtle beast with a sense of humour. In the natural sand dunes lurk its wicked teeth, and a capricious temperament sometimes provoked by winds of varied strengths and direction. The Machrie offers the ideal balance: a famous classic links course perched above the golden sands of Laggan bay – an unforgettable golfing experience. After your round, you could enjoy sampling some wonderful food in their acclaimed restaurant, or move through into one of the cosy bars, and start getting to know some (or all) of Islay’s famous single malt whiskies.
