Hotel choice
There is an enormous choice of accommodation for visitors
to London ranging
from five star hotels to self-catering - in fact, something
to suit every
taste and pocket.
Generally speaking, all accommodation is more expensive
in Central London so
if price is important to you, stay outside of this area.
As long as the
place you stay has a good rail or underground service you
should be no more
than 20 to 30 minutes from Central London. We will also be
able to drive you
to all your golf destinations from wherever you choose.
So the choice may come down to whether you'd prefer to be
in the centre of
all the action, and nearby to all the theatres, museums and
nightlife - or
if you'd prefer to enjoy a slightly more relaxed pace of
life, and stay just
outside in one of the trendy London villages such as Wimbledon,
Richmond or
Ascot.
Staying in London
London is a city renowned for its famous districts, landmarks
and hotels.
London grew out of two cities, the original City of London
and the City of
Westminster. One of the city's major attractions is its vast
areas of open
parkland, commons and woodland. London has some of the world's
most famous
districts and landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament,
the Tower of
London, the British Airways London Eye, and Buckingham Palace.
Within
central London are the districts of Westminster and the West
End;
Westminster famous for being the centre of British government
and the West
End famous for its numerous theatres and renowned shopping
districts. Other
districts in London include Mayfair, Kensington and Chelsea,
Soho and
Knightsbridge, all of which have their own distinct characteristics,
such as
the grand architecture of Mayfair and the lively, colourful
streets of Soho.
London has a selection of the world's finest restaurants
and hotels
scattered throughout its many districts.
Staying just outside
London:
Richmond upon Thames
Encompassing not only the historic royal palace of Hampton
Court, but with
Ham House, Richmond Park and Kew Gardens all falling within
its boundaries,
Richmond upon Thames is a historic area of London which also
offers visitors
more green space than any other borough and over 20 miles
of riverside.
Over the centuries Richmond has, of course, enjoyed the benefits
of royal
patronage. And, though it has become part of an extremely
busy commuter
belt, the town retains an upmarket village feel, thus ensuring
plenty of
tourists over the summer. The riverside bars & cafes,
the village green with
its popular theatre, the lanes bordering the town centre
with their antique
shops, the terrace garden overlooking the Thames Valley and
the Royal park
are always a delight all year round
