Haggs Castle Golf Club

Haggs Castle is a championship standard wooded, parkland course only a short drive from the city of Glasgow. Host to a number of regional and national tournaments, including the Scottish Open, Haggs Castle has stood the test of time to become a real Glaswegian favourite. The back nine is perhaps its best feature of this course, as there are sweeping dog-legs, neat little par threes and tricky, but reachable par fives to contend with. The final run of holes, though, are the best. The 16th has a hard to reach green hidden from the right side of the fairway by trees, while the 17th requires accuracy from the tee and the fairway if you are to walk away with a par.

Esporta Dougalston Golf Club

A very picturesque championship course set in 300 acres of the wooded Dougalston Estate with some mature tree-lined fairways, picturesque water hazards, strategically positioned bunkers and well-guarded greens. Designed in 1975 by Commander Harris, Stakis financed the project with the view to building a hotel complex. Brian Barnes and John Chillas opened the course in the summer of 1975 and commented on the stunning layout, which has proved to be a stern test of golf for all levels. In 2000 and 2001 the course underwent significant development under the Esporta banner. This included the introduction of two completely new holes and significant drainage improvements, and the new course lay-out was officially opened in July 2001.

Irvine Golf Club

The Irvine Golf Club, Bogside sports a traditional links course established over 100 years ago owing much of it's present day character to the design work of James Braid in 1926. The course provides a challenge to all with its subtle changes in direction and no two holes the same. Irvine Golf Club hosts the Final Qualifying Rounds for the Open Championship when it is held at Turnberry or Royal Troon. The Links fairways built on sand , are divided by gorse and heather. Every hole has its own identity and the greens are fast and true. The neighbouring Gulf Stream ensures year round golf of the highest quality whilst the peaks of Arran produce a natural backdrop to complement the birdlife of the River Irvine and the Bogside flats where wildlife abounds.
