Day 2 |
Burnham & Berrow |
| |
Burnham is a challenging layout with the tumbling fairways laid out in narrow valleys, protected by deep pot-bunkers and thick rough. Its' undulating, slick greens are amongst the very best in the British Isles. There are many notable and varied holes at Burnham, with a strong collection of par threes. Burnham has played host to many important amateur championships over the years and the course is regularly used for Open Championship qualification. A round at Burnham & Berrow is an absolute must for links purists.

Day 3 |
Saunton East |
| |
If there is a need for another seaside Open Championship venue, then surely the East course at Saunton is a worthy candidate. Saunton is located on the beautiful unspoilt North Devon coast. On the edge of Bideford Bay and the estuary of the River Taw, lie the sand dunes of Braunton Burrows, designated as being of international importance. The East course, laid out in 1897, runs through a small part of this amazing expanse of sand dunes where each fairway tunnels its way through the dunes, providing the feeling that you have each hole to yourself.

Day 4 |
Royal North Devon |
| |
Royal North Devon known also as Westward Ho! remains the oldest course in England still playing along its original fairways, and is also the oldest links course outside Scotland. When you look out of the clubhouse across the course, you might struggle to define the holes. There are no trees or hedges, except if you count the brambles alongside some of the fairways. There are, however, plenty of reeds and rushes waiting to catch the wayward shot. This is common land golf “au natural”, with a combination of tranquil, flat and folded fairways. Possibly, the only sound you will hear is that of the wind and if you are lucky, the sound of galloping hooves.

Day 5 |
Bude |
| |
The Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club, surrounded by the town and the sea is one of the finest links courses in the West Country. It provides eighteen exceptionally challenging holes that, if played properly, can prove to be some of the most rewarding. Challenges range from the cleverly positioned bunkers to the many blind tee shots that you have to play. The tight lies, seaside links wind, fast green and uneven stances off the undulating fairways all heighten the challenge of playing this fabulously demanding course.

Day 6 |
Saunton West |
| |
It’s shorter than its older sister – the East – but, nonetheless, the West represents a fine test. The West challenges the very best golfers, playing host to a number of County Championships and the EGU Seniors Championship. It’s a worthy understudy to the East, requiring accuracy from the tee. A number of narrow streams come into play and many of the holes feature doglegs. Possessing some of the best putting greens in England, the West is an excellent course.
