The South East is particularly famous for its tranquil and traditional English countryside and its historic cities - it's also famous for its pageantry and royal palaces, and, of course, breathtaking coastline where many of England's finest links courses take pride of place. For links golf the Kent coast is one of the hidden jewels of England. And they don't come any finer than at Royal St George's Golf Club. The stunning Kent golf links has hosted some of the most memorable Opens in living memory, including Greg Norman winning from Nick Faldo in 1993 and then 10 years later in 2003 when an unknown American, Ben Curtis, also from Kent, in Ohio, stunned the golfing world by lifting the Claret Jug.
You don't have to travel too far to play more classic links courses. Literally around the corner of the bay from Royal St George's lie two other courses which have hosted The Open before - Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club and Prince's Golf Club. And just a few miles away near the historic town of Rye, you can play the wonderful links course at Rye Golf Club as well.

England's South West coast is simply a fabulous region for golf tours - from Burnham & Berrow Golf Club on the Somerset coast, to the two Saunton golf links, and on to the rolling St Enodoc golf fairways on the North Cornwall coast. The South West corner of England boasts a cluster of links courses as good as any you'll find in the British Isles, and with the added bonus of uncrowded fairways and great value. Royal North Devon Golf Club is also the oldest course in England with a treasure trove of golfing memorabilia in its clubhouse.
In addition to the stunning golf, Cornwall offers the visitor more miles of rugged, unspoilt coastline than any other county in England. And along with expanses of rolling countryside, wooded river valleys, wild moorland and over a million years of heritage, it’s hard to beat as a destination. Along the coast are famous resorts and traditional fishing villages, whilst inland, you’ll find ancient villages, historic market towns and unique attractions such as The Eden Project.
