Travel north from Aberdeen, and you reach an undiscovered country of scenic coastal towns, historic attractions, and maritime heritage. The traditional fishing towns of Fraserburgh and Peterhead are home to both fishing history, and some fabulous golfing tradition. Peterhead is home to one of the oldest clubs in the Country, originally designed by Willie Park Jr., whilst Fraserburgh is the 7th oldest links course in the world, and one of James Braid's classic links. Between Aberdeen, and these two hidden gems, lies the 100 year old Murcar Links, regularly in the top 100 UK courses.

This creation of mother nature, among the dunes and across the links is a classic example of Scottish seaside golf at it's best - and the toughest! Peterhead Golf Club was established in 1841. The ‘Old Course’ layout began as a 9 hole course in 1892, designed by Willie Park Jnr a dual winner of the Open Championship. The ‘Old Course’ was extended to 18 holes in 1908. Guests at Craigewan Links will enjoy a hearty welcome, and the chance to play an excellent links. Whether you are a low or high handicapper, we are confident you will enjoy the golfing challenge provided by Peterhead Golf Club’s links courses. Fraserburgh is one of the true links courses left in Scotland. The club was established in 1777 when golf was played on the towns links. It moved to it's present location the philworth links in 1891. Much of the present course was designed in 1922 by James Braid, the first man to win the open 5 times. Set in Scotland's far North-east corner 42 miles North of Aberdeen, Fraserburgh is a fine 6,300 yard par 70 18 hole course and a 2,300 par 32 nine hole course. The view from the third tee on the main course alone makes the trip to Fraserburgh worthwhile. Looking over the fishing port, the North sea and onto the Joined Villages of Cairnbulg and Inverallochy. Inland Looks across the Buchan Plains and onto Mormond Hill.Fraserburgh is known as a friendly club and any visitor will enjoy their trip to the "Broch".

.The Murcar Championship Golf Links has a par of 71 and a standard scratch rating of 72. Murcar frequently features in the Top 100 courses in the UK, and the Visit Scotland Top 40 Great Scottish Links collection . Between 6 and 9 July 2006 the Murcar Links will host theEuropean Chanllenge Tour's inaugural Scottish Challenge. Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made in the 1930's by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid, it has recently undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve. Not for the beginner or the faint hearted, Murcar Link's is a par 71 (ss 72) natural Championship links, which represents a truly challenging test of golf. To play it requires every shot in the book and if the wind is up, a few more besides!

The accommodation is in an historic 'Manse' [Scottish minister's home - Scotland's equivalent of an English rectory] built for the parish of Lonmay in 1820. Standing in grounds of nearly 2 acres the house was completely renovated and refurbished in 2003 and 2004 and offers elegant and spacious rooms for those seeking individuality, comfort and tranquillity in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
