Both the championship courses at East Sussex National were designed by Robert E Cupp, one of Jack Nicklaus’s course architects, with major championship golf in mind. It’s no wonder that the club staged two European Opens and played host to some of the world’s leading players including Nick Faldo, Ernie Eles, Vijah Singh, Colin Montgomery Jose Maria Olazabel, Nick Price and Ian Woosnam.

Both courses are stunning examples of what kind of surprise Sussex can offer visiting golfers. For the first time visitor who has never heard of the East Sussex National - think Augusta National, as many believe this particular club brings a touch of Augusta to the Sussex Downs. The layout winds its way through the undulating hills of the South downs and you will relish the putting challenge on these beautifully manicured greens.

The East Course played host to the European Open in 1993 and 1994 while the West Course Played hosted Challenge Tour Championships 1995-1998 and the European Tour Qualifying School from 1994-1997. The 17th hole on the East Course is the signature hole where you must negotiate a menacing creek. One of Sussex's finest golfing hotspots - a true gem.
