Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Resort, Donegal

This is Rosapenna Hotel and Golf Resort where the waters meet the wild and 4 star luxury nestles amidst the rolling Donegal landscape.
"Dun na nGall" - The original Gaelic name for Donegal means the fort of the foreigner. But whether you are visiting from abroad or from another part of the island, Rosapenna, with a warm and friendly welcome creates a congenial atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy themselves.

Tranquil lounges and elegant dining areas overlooking the bay combine to set the ambience. Their restaurant specialises in local seafood. Cod, Hake, Monkfish and Haddock are all landed on the pier opposite the hotel. Lobster are caught along the Atlantic Drive Headlands and for Scallops they have something very special. The chef is in a position to make a call and divers deliver their Scallop gathered that afternoon to be served fresh on the night's menu.......It doesn't get any fresher than that!

The original Rosapenna golf course was laid out by the great Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews in 1891. Harry Vardon and James Braid both journeyed to Rosapenna in the early 1900s to add length and bunkering, wisely leaving Morris's perfect greens intact. Rosapenna's Old Tom Morris Golf Course remains very much as it has been for the past century -- a standing tribute to the superb design work of those old masters. Go here anticipating a piece of historic golf magic, and you won't be disappointed.

A second course opened in June 2003 at Rosapenna, sharing the same wild coastline as the original. This time the designer was Pat Ruddy, the golf writer turned architect who took the golf world by storm with The European Club, his astounding layout just south of Dublin.
The new Sandy HillsGolf Links has already received rave reviews from those fortunate enough to have sampled it. A fantastic addition to Ireland’s already world renowned trail of links courses, Pat Ruddy’s last designed course has been described as “simply breathtaking”
